Information and help

What is it?

HomeTime helps you find where to live. You can create a travel time map (an isochrone map) and search for properties based on their size, number of beds and historic trends.

How do I make a map?

Go to the maps page (you might be asked to log in), then fill in the fields. When choosing locations, search using the text field then choose a location from the drop-down - you will see a pin appear at that location on the map.

How do you make the maps?

The maps are created using open source public transport data, and have a few assumptions built in:

  • Maximum walking time of 5 minutes
  • Walking speed of 4 km/h
  • Waiting time is half of that route's headway, i.e., assume random arrival time
  • Individual journey times are taken from published timetables

Are the maps free?

Maps are free while we're in beta - use code 'freebie'.

What is the condo data?

We use published data about condo rentals to show you condos. This includes property sizes, number of beds, and rental prices. You can search on the map or by name.
